The Golden Cock Inn was a timber framed building on Westgate. It was demolished in 1963.

The Six Chimneys on Kirkgate fell down in 1941. At first it was thought a German bomb had hit it, but an inside supporting wall had been removed and the building collapsed under its own weight.
