Rishworth Street car park: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Concrete has been a popular building material since the 1960s to build public buildings like the Market Hall, and the multi storey car park on Rishworth Street.
Market Hall: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Concrete can be formed off the building site (precast) into structures that are designed to be strong and take weight, such as in the Market Hall's roof. By setting steel rods into the wet concrete the concrete parts can be made stronger when they are dry.
