Wakefield born architect Charles Watson designed some of Wakefield’s most iconic Georgian properties. Between 1790 and 1830, he worked on this museum, St John’s Church and Square, the Court House, Stanley Royd Hospital, as well as homes in Margaret Street and Westgate.
